The “Summer Ballet Cocktail”, the successful series of open-air performances from the Brno National Theatre Ballet that took place in Biskupský dvůr (2017) and Špilberk Castle (2018), will continue this winter in the Mahen Theatre.
The ballet has prepared three new choreography arrangements by soloist Martin Svobodník, demi-soloist Markéta Pimek Habalová, and artistic director Mário Radačovský.
Radačovský’s choreography marks the 50th anniversary of the events of 1968 (The Prague Spring and the subsequent occupation of Czechoslovakia by the Soviet Union, editor’s note). Pimek Habalová will bring “more love and humour to the cocktail,” according to Barbora Hniličková from the Ballet’s Marketing and PR department; she will dance to the wonderful timeless chansons of Jacques Brel. Svobodník is preparing an educational and entertaining work entitled “About Music and Dance”. “We can, as always, expect something crazy that will entertain us,” said Hniličková about Svobodník’s segment.
