Brno, Jan 17 (BD) – The city’s proposals for a new residential home for seniors will involve the renovation of two apartment buildings on Cejl, at an estimated cost of CZK 89 million.
The two L-shaped buildings are currently joined by a common courtyard area, and will form a single unit on completion. Oliver Pospíšil, Deputy Mayor for Housing, described the proposed complex: “The reconstruction will result in 36 residential units of size 1+kk and 2+kk, of which six apartments will be have full disabled access, and another three will be equipped with accessible bathrooms. The courtyard will serve as a leisure area.” The buildings currently have four storeys, but the proposals include plans to add one more storey to the side of the building facing the street.
Councillors approved the launch of the tendering process at their meeting on Wednesday; construction could begin later this year, with the first tenants to move into the facility in 2021.
