IAMX (UK) played an amazing show at Fleda on February 9. Knowing frontman Chris Corner from his previous band “Sneaker Pimps”, I have been a big fan of IAMX since the very beginning. It was 2009 that I last saw IAMX in İstanbul, ten years ago. Accordingly, this made the long-anticipated night more than “just a show” for me. Photo: Courtesy of Lukas Knoll.

Brno, Feb 12 (BD) – First of all, the venue was heaving with people and some even remained in the hall, looking for a chance to get inside. IAMX started performing around nine. This tour was named “Mile Deep Hollow” from their recent album “Alive in New Light”, but the setlist was very well balanced between old and new songs. The total performance was around one and a half hours, including hits like “Happiness”, “I Come with Knives”, “After Every Party I Die”, “Your Joy Is My Low”, “President”, “Bring Me Back a Dog”, “Spit It Out”, and of course “Mile Deep Hollow”…

“The energy was at its maximum from the start of the concert until the very last moment of the performance.”

The overall sound was very solid, especially where the songs with synth parts were followed by screams and hard beats to blast your mind. This is something unique to IAMX, and they know very well how to maintain the atmosphere and the heat of the night. The energy was at its maximum from the start of the concert until the very last moment of the performance. The audience interaction was also quite strong throughout the whole night.

“From a perfectly designed electro-goth stage set to futuristic clothes, the band represents the questioning of all society’s norms and so-called ‘identities’ in all aspects. ”

IAMX perform more aggressively in their live shows compared to their records. From a perfectly designed electro-goth stage set to futuristic clothes, the band represents the questioning of all society’s norms and so-called “identities” in all aspects. The iconography and the stage concept is a big part of the show when it comes to IAMX concerts.

The “Mile Deep Hollow” tour will end in early March but I am certain the Brno audience is looking forward to seeing IAMX again very soon…

“After every IAMX performance, I die…”
