Brno, Oct 29 (BD) – The project mainly analyzed the bed capacity of individual providers, personnel, and equipment. According to the research, the equipment in Brno’s hospitals is of a high standard and exceeds the rest of the country in both amount and quality.
The report also states that there are a sufficient number of healthcare providers in Brno. However, the trend is slightly negative. There is a risk of a future fall in the number of walk-in services due to the higher average age of doctors (as some will be retiring). The report expects this trend to be reflected in the number of GPs for children and adolescents in the coming years.
“Last but not least, the authors of the study state that in Brno, there are 400 fewer full-time doctors and 200 fewer full-time nurses compared to systemization,” according to a press release from City of Brno spokesman Filip Poňuchálek last Tuesday. According to the report, the greatest deficit is in faculty hospitals. “Compared to other regions of the Czech Republic, the situation is not critical, but some hospital facilities have to be closed,” added Poňuchálek.
