Brno, Nov 12 (BD) – According to the latest data from the Czech Statistical Office, in the third quarter of 2018, accommodation facilities in the South Moravian Region hosted 788,000 guests, who spent over 1.83 million nights there altogether. Foreign clients accounted for 31% of the total number of guests.
The number of guests staying in South Moravia increased by 6% year-on-year. In the South Moravian Region, 43,000 more people used the services of hotels, hostels, motels, and other accommodation facilities than in the third quarter of 2017.

The region’s popularity among both Czech and foreign tourists has grown for the seventh year in a row, since the third quarter of 2012.
Among foreign tourists, the biggest increase was reported in the number of people travelling from Asia (+32%); among visitors from Europe, the year-on-year increase was 5%.
The most numerous nationalities among visitors to the South Moravian Region are Poles, Slovaks and Germans, who make up about 40% of foreign tourists.
