Mavenir, a software and telecommunication networking provider from United States, Texas. The company makes software that delivers video, voice and other enhanced messaging to the clients. It provides its services to more than a hundred mobile networks across the planet.
The company has recently announced the R&D Center of Excellence to be built in Brno. Its primary concern will be Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Signal Security. The research center will be focusing on SS7, SIP, Spam-control and Diameter Signaling Firewalls.
The SS7 has been developed in 1975 and is widely used to this day. However, hackers have started to exploit the system only recently. Last month, some operators have confirmed that a few of their clients’ bank accounts have been hacked through SS7 fraud. Moreover, the results of the recent checkup have shown that most of the networks are holes in their security through SS7.
Having SS7 protocols as telecommunication standard that will not be substituted for anything else in the near future, pushes Mavenir towards its enhancement. Thus, a new R&D center in Brno.
