Brno, Dec 10 (BD) – Great news for fans of motorsport: tickets for the Grand Prix at Brno’s Masaryk Circuit on August 2-4, 2019 are now on sale at Christmas prices, with a discount of up to 35%. “I’m glad we managed to start selling tickets before Christmas this year,” said Mayor of Brno Markéta Vaňková at a press conference, hinting that tickets could be a perfect Christmas gift for motorsport fans.
The first round of ticket sales, at the lowest prices, started last Monday and will run until the end of January.
Popular Tickets Remain at the Same Price
Ticket prices have remained unchanged from this year. Tickets can currently be purchased for the GOLD and SILVER “natural pavilions” and all the pavilions with seating (“tribuny” T1-T6), as well as the increasingly popular Camp A “biker tickets”, which allow ticket-holders to put up tents at the Masaryk Circuit during the Grand Prix.
The SENIOR and T2 Premium tickets, both introduced for the first time last year, will be available again in 2019. The SENIOR ticket gives those born before 1952 inclusive access to all natural tribunes for CZK 500. The T2 Premium ticket includes access to the tent next to the home stretch, permission to enter any natural tribune, and the chance to visit the Paddock.
T4 PLUS and T4 ULTRA tickets are all new for the upcoming season, and combine the advantages of natural tribune, seat, and VIP tickets. The T4 ULTRA includes a parking space near the T4 tribune and access to the Paddock during the race weekend.
VIP T1 tickets are not yet on sale. Information on this type of ticket will be available in January 2019.
The Future of the Grand Prix
The city and the region are continuing negotiations with the state about financing the Grand Prix, which is currently running at a loss of CZK 31 million. South Moravian Governor Bohumil Šimek expressed optimism: “If I weren’t an optimist, we wouldn’t meet here. I believe that the combined work of the city, region, and state will provide a sufficient guarantee that the Grand Prix will happen in 2019.” He added that the region will negotiate with various ministries for Grand Prix support.
