Brno, Apr 7 (BD) – With an index of 90.91, the Czech Republic was ranked first in the National Cyber Security Index (NCSI). NCSI’s ranking evaluates the preparation capacity of countries in case of cyber incidents and is updated regularly by experts in legislation and cyber security. It was created by the e-Governance Academy organization, which is a United Nations Development Programme, and an Estonian government initiative.
According to NCSI, Czechia’s strengths are the protection of personal data and different government entities working on cyber security.
Although, the digital development level is not so high – 10 points less than Estonia, France, Germany or Denmark – the Czech Republic has good cyber security capacities.

The country was already judged “cyber safe” in 2017, according to a survey released by Check Point, a multinational provider of hardware and software products for IT security, quoted by Radio Prague.
In March 2019, the Czech National Cyber Security Center was drawing media’s attention when it had issued a warning against the use of software and hardware of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., and ZTE Corporation.
