Knights of valor and maids of celestial beauty, come or ride to Modřice this weekend! Bitva Modřice (Battle of Modřice), for the tenth year takes place this Saturday near Brno. The event gathers the enthusiasts of fencing and cosplay from the Gothic period.
Valor knights will face problems of good and evil, saving their loved ones. There will be fencing duels, large-scale medieval battle, and riding competition.
A fencing group named Alternus from Valašsko, with the costumes stylized to the 13th century “fashion style” will show you some of their duels along with acting performances. The group is made up of both girls and boys from 15 to 41 years of age.
Then there will be a riding performance where one will get everything, while the rest will leave with nothing but disgrace. Historical fencing club called “Baštýři” versus the group named “Tvrz” will introduce this show.
A group of fearless fire wielders, Carpe Noctem, will entertain you with a fire show inspired by Celtic and Czech themes. The manipulation of the wild element is going to be tied to a theatrical performance and will be based on various lyrical stories to enhance the dangerous show.

In between the scheduled events, various groups of knights and lasses are going to demonstrate their skills in medieval duels.

Where: Modřice, which is near Brno. Tram №2 can take you there in 20 min. from Hlavní Nádraží; the stop is called Tyršova. The meeting place is the field near the tram stop.
