Uber is returning to Brno! This week, Supreme Court in Olomouc canceled the preliminary ban of Regional Court in Brno hindering the company from operating in the city of Brno. “A spokesman of the Supreme Court confirmed the information that the cars of Uber can return back to Brno the day when the judicial decision in writing will be delivered to the company,” writes Uber on its website.
The Court in Brno decided that Uber system didn’t not comply with the laws of taxi services in Brno. Brno taxi drivers were infuriated that they have to comply with the regulations that Uber does not follow; this in their view produced an unfair competition. The main line of dispute was Brno Municipality – Lido Taxi (one of the traditional taxi services in Brno) – Uber.
Supreme Court in Olomouc cancelled preliminary decision of the regional court in Brno and remitted the matter to the lower court for further consideration. The Deputy Mayor of Transport in Brno said that this is not the final verdict and more will be said on the case.
“Until we have a new decision by the court in Brno, there will be absolutely no problem to order a Uber car,” writes Uber.
