Brno, August 7 (BD) – Everything will be fine! [Všechno bude fajn!] The optimistic title of the new movie about Brno predicts the humorous character of the film and after three years of filming the movie is ready to portray Brno as a city of humor and disappointment. Photo: Vsechnobudefajn.cz
The seventy minutes long film was directed by Robin Kvapil. The authors characterize the film as “kindly anarchist”. Last week, the film was screened in front of 500 people at the Spilberk Castle, Czech daily iDnes.cz reported.
Producer Čestmír Kopecký shared that he found Brno more interesting than Prague, so he invited the 30 most humorous people of Brno and made the film with them. “Everything will be fine!” is the second film about Brno made by the director. The first one is a comedy called “Nuda v Brně”.
The new movie got 68% out of 100% on the official Czech movie database website.
Due to the rapid political changes at Brno municipality the script of the film had to be rewritten a few times.
Robin Kvapil believes that living in Brno requires a sense of humor and he tried to portray the funny side of Brno citizens in the film. He also reminded that the film is based on the the humorous site Prigl.cz, which is the home platform of the second co-author of the script Pavel Šplial.
Robert Kotzian, former deputy mayor of Brno said that the four million crowns required for the movie were funded by the former State Fund of Cinematography and noted that the director should show some loyalty to his hometown as the film does not depicts the real life of Brno citizens. It was later proven that Robert Kotzian’s critique was the best advertisement for the movie, iDnes.cz wrote.
The movie is set around three stories. The main characters of the first story are based on former Mayor of Brno Roman Onderka his deputy Ladislav Macek. The other two stories revolve around an unsuccessful married couple in their thirties and a couple of retirees seeking to make their end meet. The producer wanted to include the Brno Dragon in the movie as well.
People who watched the movie shared that it is an accurate representation of Brno. The film is expected to reach tens thousand viewers.
The film will be screened in Znojmo, Rosice, Pardubice, Kolín and Olomouc. The closest screening takes place August 15, at Spilberk summer cinema.
