Brno, August 10 (BD) – Starting this week and for the whole month ahead, Department of Music History of Moravian Museum invites you to visit the exhibition of classical music composers, such as Leoš Janáček – a renowned Czech composer and folklorist who has greatly contributed to the folk culture with his literary works and musical compositions.
Visitors may see the exclusive display of Franz Liszt’s original letters connect to Brno along with Johannes Brahms’ manuscripts. The museum will put on display precious manuscripts and old musical instruments of the castle and church collections.
There will also be an array of personal items from the estate of Leoš Janáček as well as interesting documents of Brno composers: Vítězslava Kaprálová and Pavel Haase. At the exhibition, you will be able to find copies of original manuscripts of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonín Dvořák.
The Department of Music History is the oldest music archive in the Czech Republic and one of the most important in Europe.
The exhibition will be held until September 10.
