Highland lovers will have the chance to feel in Scotland without leaving Brno. The MonteBú Highland Games event invites the whole family to spend a very playful and dynamic day together.

“It’s a traditional Highland Games event in the very center of Brno. And the only one in Moravia so far. It’s a nice day out for families with kids also,” the organizer of the event, David Neckar said.

The event organized by Skotský Pes conciliates the best of Scotland in a single pack culture, traditional games, food, and of course you can count with plenty of beer and whiskey!

During the event, you can enjoy yourself experiencing typical Scottish games prepared by the Kládaklan Sports Club as farmer run (přenášení kamenů – „farmářský běh“), roll the straw to the height (hod balíkem slámy do výšky), throwing boulders (hod balvanem), and many others.

The creators also thought about children; they can join activities especially designed for them – the easier versions of the games.

You can expect to cut a rug to the sound of Bagpipes, Bagpipe Band, Theme Bands and Demos. Those with rusty feet, don’t worry! The Scottish lecturer, Mike Scott, will teach you the typical dance, Ceilidh.

Last year, MonteBú Highland Games received very positive reviews. “It was fun, the music is addictive and merry, I could listen to it all the time!” one participant said, according to David Neckar.

The extended program also includes horseback riding, whiskey talks and, and more.

The event is free, family-friendly and open to the public.
