Brno, Sept 19 (BD) – One of Brno’s most popular central routes will see some traffic delays for a couple of months due to reconstruction.
Parts of Křenová Street were closed for road repairs on Monday morning.
“Due to the reconstruction of the tram line, traffic is excluded until the end of November 2017 there,” Brno city police say. The reconstruction started with 2-months delay.
Changes in public transport
Any changes in trams’ schedules are not expected.
Route changes apply only to trolleybus lines 31 and 33 that drive towards the center. At Spáčilova stop, they take an alternative route via Rumiště, Mlýnská and Čechyňská streets.
Alternatives for drivers
Alternative traffic routes are reaching their capacity limits with the vehicles that normally pass through the closed Křenová street.
Police recommend drivers to take alternative routes through Olomoucká, Hladíkova, Zvonařka or Dornych streets.
This afternoon at 4:55 PM, in the street Dornych in Brno, the traffic accident was reported. The accident of two cars went without any serious injuries. The accident has caused a considerable delay.
Brno drivers were already experiencing complications and long ques in the Koliště or Kounice streets in past months.
The police suggest drivers take other routes to avoid delays and encourage the drivers to depart earlier and stay patient.
