Brno, Oct 2 (BD) – Today, October 2, 2017, a demonstration to support the Prague protest against Uber takes place at 12-14 PM in Brno.

Brno taxi drivers will meet at 12:00 PM on the Bauerova street (near the Riviera swimming pool complex) and will slowly drive through the city streets in order to protest against Uber in the Czech Republic.

“The goal is not to block transport in Brno but to show our support to our colleagues in Prague,” Association of Czech Taxi Drivers (Sdružení Českých Taxikářů) wrote on their Facebook profile on Saturday.

“It will be a peaceful, slow (but not blocking) ride along the following route: Parkoviště Riviera – Poříčí – Opuštěná – Ostravská – Řipská – Brno airport and back to Riviera,” the Association explained.

Prague taxi drivers are asking Prague Mayor Adriana Krnáčová (ANO) to resolve their dispute with Uber services. Hundreds of taxi drivers will block the streets. Prague is expecting a transport collapse today.

“We are forced to reach out to this solution, as all of us in Prague are constantly being robbed by illegal workers using Uber, Taxify …,” the representatives of Association of Czech Taxi Drivers stated.
