The University of Defence (UoD) plays the key role of the Czech military professional personnel university-level education and of the science research within the MoD. Education and research are therefore the school’s priorities, completed with expert and processing work.

The University of Defence provides for accredited education in bachelor, master and doctoral degree programmes in military, military management, economics, engineering or health care.

The University of Defence takes an irreplaceable position in the Czech university-level education system as the provided education is comparable to that of civilian university in the Czech Republic.

The University consists of three faculties:

• Faculty of Military Leadership
• Faculty of Military Technology
• Faculty of Military Health Sciences (located in Hradec Králové)

a university institute:

• NBC Defence Institute

and three centres:

• Centre for Security and Military Strategic Studies
• Language Centre
• Physical Training and Sports Centre
