Ask a comedy fan about their ten favourite Monty Python moments, and The Ministry of Silly Walks is sure to be among them.
This 1970 sketch has acquired a cult following, and now the seventh International Silly Walks Day is upon us.
Although not a bank holiday, this is a holiday that is celebrated in a number of countries in both the eastern and western hemispheres.
Last year, Brno was singled out on Monty Python’s official website as having a record-breaking turnout, as approximately 250 people joined in the silly walk parade around the centre of Brno.
Not familiar with Monty Python? You can get a taste of both the original Monty Python sketch and Sunday’s expected festivities on the Silly Walk 2018 (Švihlý pochod Brnem) Facebook event page.
The fun starts at 2:45pm on Sunday at the Statue of Justice (Socha spravedlnosti) near Moravian Square. Come and show off your silly walk!
