Brno, Jan 29 (BD) – 51.96% or some 350,000 voters supported him in the South Moravian region.
Zeman convinced most voters in the region but failed in Brno, where Jiří Drahoš won with 57.57% of votes.
In the presidential run-off, two incidents were recorded in Brno. On the first day of the election, police had to take away a drunken member of one of the commissions at Brno’s polling stations in Stránice.
On Friday afternoon, a man at Malinovského náměstí was offering CZK 500 for a vote for Zeman, local daily Rovnost reported. “We have obtained a testimony from a man who was offender money for voting for Miloš Zeman at Malinovského náměstí in Brno today,” Rovnost wrote on its Facebook page. “The police do not officially know about this case,” the daily added in the statement on Facebook.
