Brno, Jan 29 (BD) – Last Friday (Jan. 26, 2018), the municipality of Brno announced a project for the purchase of “smart” parking machines. The new machines will be installed in the historical center of the city. They will allow drivers to pay parking fees with credit cards.
City Councilors (Rada města Brna) approved the necessary budget scheme last Tuesday. The budget plan will be submitted for approval to the city’s representatives (Zastupitelstvo města Brna).
The purchase of new parking machines should be covered by the municipal budget and European subsidies.
The first new parking machines could be in use in April or May, the municipality stated on its official website.
“We know about the need for these machines. Now, we have listened to public appeals and we will recommend the matter, ” Deputy Mayor Matěj Hollan said.
