Brno, Feb 1 (BD) – On Tuesday, Brno’s municipal government (Zastupitelstvo města Brna) announced personnel changes and approved 2018 subsidies worth over 70 million crowns.

Robert Plaga (ANO 2011) and Stanislav Juránek (KDU-CSL) resigned from office. They were replaced by Jakub Hruška (KDU-CSL), who was at the same time appointed as chairman of the Financial Committee, and Jiří Faltýnek (ANO 2011) who was appointed as a member of the Financial Committee.

The new municipal government approved subsidies for sports, health and social services, totalling more than 70 million crowns. Another 2 million have been allocated for the purchase of new parking machines that will allow Brno drivers to pay for parking with credit cards.
The deputies approved a total of 62 million crowns in subsidies to support sports in the community, the largest subsidies being given to sports clubs such as Kometa Brno (16 million crowns) and FC Zbrojovka Brno (CZK 11.98 million).

Volleyball Brno, Královo Pole Volleyball Club, and SKKP Handball Brno will receive a subsidy of around CZK 3 million each.

A total of nearly 9 million crowns (some one million more than last year) will be used for subsidies for health care, family care, and senior care.

Reflecting the recent change (as of January 2018) of the parking rate in the historical center of the city, the municipal government approved a budget for installing new parking machines that will accept payments by both banknotes or credit cards, as previously reported by Brno Daily.
