Visitors to these two sites will no longer have to walk around the entire neighborhood. Brno City Council approved the project of connecting the two villas’ gardens. A new entrance with a turnstile will enable the visitors to pass through to Villa Tugendhat. Photo: @BrnoDaily

Brno, March 2 (BD) – Neighbouring villas Tugendhat and Löw-Beer are currently separated by a fence. The new passage with a turnstile between the two gardens will be installed this year, the City of Brno has announced.

“The investment, which is entrusted to the Brno City Museum, will be realized this year. In addition to installing a turnstile, we will need to build a path to the entrance, provide a camera system and lighting. In total, this is an investment of CZK 2 million,” Matěj Hollan, deputy for Cultural Affairs explained in the official press release.

The turnstile will be technically designed so that the entrance fees will be paid directly on the Löw-Beer Villa side with coins, banknotes or by credit card.

According to data from the City of Brno, Villa Tugendhat was visited by 44,639 people and the gardens of the Löw-Beer Villa were visited by 18,555 visitors last year.

On March 1–17 2018, Villa Tugendhat will be completely closed to the public due to the shooting of a new film “Skleněný pokoj” (“The Glass Room“).
