Brno, Mar 6 (BD) – Opifer, the new owner of the shopping centre Futurum in Horní Heršpice, is the “venture and technology transfer investment company focused on early stage startups,” according to its official website.
The new owner plans investments totalling 1 billion Czech crowns. “In the next three years, we are planning a major modernization of the entire centre, with investment costs rising to one billion crowns,” said Opifer partner Lukáš Foral, Czech local daily Brněnský deník wrote earlier on Monday.
According to the Czech business server E15.cz, Futurum has been struggling for a long time with low number of shoppers. Opifer bought the centre from the multinational Atrium European Real Estate Group, E15.cz reported on Sunday.
34 400 m2 large Futurum Brno is a family-oriented shopping centre situated in the industrial part of Brno. “The asset benefits from its strategic location in the attractive suburban area,” Atrium European Real Estate Group wrote on its official website.
Futurum shopping center was opened in 2000 according to its Facebook page. Today, there are over 50 stores such as JENA, SPORTISIMO, GATE, TAKKO, or DM Drogerie.
