The Museum of Torture (Museum mučicích nástrojů a útrpného práva) will open its doors to those who are interested in the various kinds of torture machines dating from 500 BCE to the 20th century.
Located at the new entrance of Brno’s underground network of tunnels and cellars (Masarykova 413/34), the museum is the largest exhibition of its type in the world, containing over 200 exhibits created solely for causing pain: “tools” for pulling, tearing, cutting, burning and stinging – everything that has been fashionable for punishment throughout the centuries.

“There are no guided tours, but all the exhibits are accompanied by images and explanations in English. To take a good look at the torture devices, you will need around one hour,” museum curator Robert Pospíchal says.
Tickets can be bought at the Museum, at the entrance to the Labyrinth under the Green Market and at TIC Brno.

Discounted admission (ZTP, Students, Pensioners) 80 CZK / 3 €
Groups (from 20 people) 10% off the regular price
Children up to 10 years 10 CZK (must be accompanied by an adult, max. 3 children)
The museum is open from April 1 between 10am and 7pm every day, including Sundays.
