Brno, Apr 14 (BD) – Nearly two hundred people will dust off their uniforms and go to Veveří today to reenact historical events dubbed “Veveří – Eichhorn 1809”.
“You will see how soldiers lived in the camps, what they were eating, their uniforms and gear,” the official website promises. “Visitors will witness a siege of the castle, as well as demonstrations of cavalry,” the website continues.
Chefs will be preparing food for both soldiers and visitors using the original recipes of the 19th century.
The highlight of the event is a simulated battle at 2 pm.
The castle will open its gates from 10am to 5pm. Visitors will need to pay a small entry fee of CZK 80.
