This unique library has no books, but stories. For one day, visitors will have the chance to meet and listen to people with interesting and often complicated life stories. A unique event is focused on democratic values and human rights.
Amnesty International: Living Library is a project that aims to bring visitors closer to cultures of minorities like Roma and Muslims, as well as gender minorities and the homeless. Representatives of the minorities will share their personal stories and will be open to questions and dialogue. Do not miss this one-time opportunity to share, learn, and exchange cultural experience.
Czech and Slovak artists got inspired by the real life stories and pulled them together into comic art. During the event, visitors can check the comic book based on the lives of a Roma activist, a refugee from Afghanistan, and a former homeless man.
Because music has the power to bring people together, Veronika Kačová and Honza Polyak will offer a special music performance inspired by the Roma culture.
“The event is definitely English friendly.” Jarmila Fekiačová, one of the organizers of Meeting Brno, told us.
