Fresh off a couple of shows in California, the next stop on critically acclaimed stand-up comedian Danny O’Brien’s current tour of 24 gigs in six different countries is Naproti Absinthe Bar in Brno this Wednesday.
Winner of Stand Up For FM104’s 2012 Dublin’s Funniest Comedian Award, as well as the Toilet Duck Award at Tedfest, named for the legendary Channel 4 sitcom Father Ted, O’Brien has also enjoyed a plethora of rave reviews from the likes of the Irish Examiner, Live in Berlin and The Sunday Independent, to name a few.
More recently, O’Brien’s blend of observational and anecdotal comedy has resulted in regular appearances on radio and TV, including The Comedy Channel’s Brexit at Tiffany’s.

His current tour began in January of this year in his native Ireland and has taken him to Sweden, the UK, and the US, with the Czech Republic and Germany to follow.
“After inheriting a broken-down, unreliable, older-than-he-is motorcycle, Danny decided to take to the road on a comedic expedition. Come hear the story of this RaconTour – in all its glory, failures and triumphs alike!” reads a post on his Facebook page.
O’Brien will take the stage at 8pm on Wednesday May 2 at Naproti Absinthe Bar, who will open their doors for the event at 7pm.
As always, tickets are available on GoOut, a link to which can be found on Velvet Comedy’s Facebook page for this event. If any tickets remain on the evening of the show, they will be made available at the door.
