Brno, May 16 (BD) – Recently, the City of Brno has been improving the accessibility of public infrastructure for people with disabilities, seniors and families with young children.
Yesterday, city representatives approved an investment of 11 million crowns to this end. The funds will be used to remove many of the metal railings around the city in order to improve pedestrian mobility, as well as to lower sidewalks at certain intersections for wheelchairs and prams and to increase the amount of tactile paving on sidewalks for the visually impaired.
Some of the locations that will benefit from these funds are Šilingrovo Square, the pedestrian crossing at Benešova – Nádražní, and the tram stops Kubíčkova and Bělohorská, says Radka Loukotová from the press centre of the City of Brno.
