Polárka Theater, the theatre where amateur ensembles used to perform, became fully professional in 1999.
The theater, under the name Alternative Theater for Children and Youth Polárka, was fully professionalized in 1999/2000 and Jaroslav Tuček became the artistic director as well as the theater director. Some artists are young students of art schools, mostly graduates of the Faculty of Theater at JAMU in Brno.
The cooperation with young theater producers, especially with graduates of art schools, is something unique. Talented directors, artists, musicians and other artists receive the opportunity to use their imagination at Polárka. With their unique approach, they bring their surprising novelty, wonderful colors and freshness to plays dedicated to children.
This theatre famously use in their plays live music and it focuses on their original plays.
In 2016/17, Polarka opened a small hall and established two studios for young adepts of theatrical work – the Polaro-Id and Polarinek.
