Volunteering in Brno
Ratolest Brno is a Czech non-profit organisation founded in 1995 in Brno. Its goal is to provide help to socially disadvantaged children, young people and families. “Our mission is to help socially disadvantaged children, young people and families resolve their adverse life situations, or help prevent such circumstances, while offering them equal opportunities to live better quality lives and successfully integrate into society,” reads Ratolest’s official statement. The organization currently employs 60 active volunteers and provides consultations to people interested in volunteering in social services dedicated to endangered children, seniors, disabled people, or people with mental illness. Ratolest’s volunteers are supported with consultancy, legal assistance, and insurance.
Volunteering across the Czech Republic. Dobrovolník.cz is a portal where potential volunteers can find the ideal opportunity for them across the country. Topics of volunteering programs there vary from culture, environment or human rights to providing assistance to homeless people, children, youth, and people with disabilities. It doesn’t stop here. Dobrovolník.cz provides assistance to various organizations and people with finding volunteers for their projects.
Dobrovolnik.cz currently offers two active programs in Brno:

Would you like to volunteer in a real family? Hostcz.org is an organization founded in 2003 focusing on providing assistance to socially vulnerable families and parents without experience. Volunteers with real experience are appreciated there. Who can understand a parent better that another parent? Volunteers there can help and contribute to the family’s well-being based on their own experience. The organization is active in Brno and is looking for motivated volunteers who will help them accomplish their mission.
