A new website www.kopemezabrno.cz has been launched by Brno Municipality. People can find information on important investments affecting the transport in the city this summer on the web.
The new resource summarizes infrastructure projects that are planned or are currently under work.
Mayor of Brno, Petr Vokřál, says that it is important that such information is readily available for citizens. “We can only agree that encountering unexpected traffic restrictions is a never pleasant experience.” The website helps drivers and public transport passengers to avoid the road works and possible changes in the transport system and understand why they are needed.
“Kopeme za Brno” web, available only in Czech, features sites of constructions explaining why the work needs be done and what will be built, including the scheduled dates of construction works and responsible companies. “We want to show the positive aspects of reconstructions – better and better quality of life in our city, ” explains Vokřál.
Yesterday’s Municipality press release reports that “The campaign works with hyperbole and humor and will describe the construction plans in language comprehensible to laymen.”
Municipality website is linked to a mobile application called “Waze” that shows a real time situation on the roads, as well as available detours.
