Mushroom appAplikace na houby is a mobile application currently available on Google Play for free download. The application contains a detailed atlas of the most common mushroom species. The atlas has everything that you need for recognizing edible mushrooms from their poisonous counterparts. The app opens a guide with a picture and characteristic signs. “The greatest application specialty is its experimental function for optical recognition of mushrooms using neural network,” write its authors. The app has received so far 5 star rating from 23 reviewers on Google Play.

Mushroom picking season in the Czech Republic begins in late May and peaks in September. The best conditions for mushroom growth are two – hot and high humidity. The caloric value of mushrooms is low and they are full of vitamins and minerals. Many Czech traditional recipes are based on mushrooms.

Aplikace na houby offers a simple, visually pleasing system on how to distinguish edible mushrooms and poisonous ones. It’s easier than you think. Just take a picture of the mushroom and the application will instantly give you information on the species.
