Brno, May 10 (BD) – “We plan to build a steam sauna in the Ponávka indoor swimming pool and replace the sauna heating system at the Rašínova Spa and Relaxation Centre,” said Deputy Mayor Petr Hladík.

Both projects are to be realised this year. In the construction of the new sauna, the city will invest CZK 1.5 million; the renovation costs at Rašínova Spa and Relaxation Centre will reach CZK 500,000, Radka Loukotová from the city’s press centre reported.

Budgetary measures proposed by City Council [Rada] must now be approved by the deputies of the city government [Zastupitelstvo].

Both facilities are operated by the municipal company STAREZ-SPORT.

Another new sauna, said to have “the most beautiful view in Brno”, opened in February in the outdoor area of Kraví hora Sport and Recreation Centre, spokeswoman of Brno-střed Town Hall Kateřina Dobešová reported.

People can enjoy panoramic views of the city centre and its landmarks right from the sauna.

The Town Hall of Brno-střed has invested nearly two million crowns in saunas this year.

“Kraví hora was lacking a sauna. I believe that the local people in particular will appreciate it and will use it abundantly because they have long been interested in having one,” said Ing. Martin Schwab, 4th vice-mayor of Brno-střed, in an official press release earlier this year. (See the previous Brno Daily article, Finnish sauna with a beautiful view opens at Kraví hora.)
