Summer days make the city come to life, and the sheer number of events can make it difficult to decide where to spend your time.

In this episode of What’s Up Brno sponsored by Impact Hub Brno, we’ve picked the seven best events happening in June.

#1 ‘Trial day‘ at Impact Hub – an opportunity to try what it’s like being a part of the ‘coworking community’. The day ends with a speed networking event called ‘English Impact Hub MeetUp‘.

#2 RE:PUBLIKA Festival, May 26-June 17 – it is a project that celebrates 100 years of Czechoslovak independence. Three hundred thousand visitors are expected to attend the celebrations. The festival includes exhibitions, concerts, theatre performances, dance, sports and personal stories.

#3 For the duration of the Re:publika Festival, the international fireworks competition Ignis Brunensis will dominate Brno’s skyline (May 25 to June 17). In particular, four shows over Brno Lake, which will be held on June 2, 6, 9 and 13, will make up the main competition. The final show will be over Špilberk Castle on Saturday June 16.

#4 At Moravská galerie, the 28th International Biennial of Graphic Design Brno has begun and will be on all the way until August 26. The works of 169 graphic designers from 26 countries from all over the world will be exhibited during this period. Most of the selected works are related to culture, such as promotion of cultural events, festivals, and magazines.

#5 Minská Open, June 22 – Minská Street will be closed to traffic for an open street party. From the afternoon hours of June 22nd, there will be concerts, lasers, a programme for children and an afterparty later on.

#6 Kaménka Open, June 22-24 – an open air festival with musical performances in the calm and relaxing atmosphere of the Kamenka neighborhood.

#7 Žebětín Beer Festival of Microbreweries, June 23 – around 800 seats under a tent will be made available to enjoy beer, grilled food and music. The programme starts at noon and lasts until midnight, and it includes concerts, an introduction to the breweries and a competition.

Filmed at Impact Hub Brno, Cyrilská 7, 602 00 Brno-střed-Trnitá.

The Impact Hub in Brno is an inspirational coworking space combining the advantages of a fully-equipped office with an Internet cafe and a business incubator. It is used by independent professionals, people from the commercial and non-profit sectors, and those members of the general public who wish to find new contacts, impulses and opportunities. On the first floor, there is also a café and bar, where the workers can meet or relax.

With 1,700 square meters, it is the biggest Impact Hub in Europe. Larger Impact Hub offices are shared only by entrepreneurs in Seattle, USA.
