Brno residents will be able to ice-skate in the city centre. If temperatures are low enough, the ice will be ready for the first skaters on November 16, as reported by Czech Television’s Události Brno on Twitter yesterday. Photo: Moravské náměstí, October 17. // Photo credit: Berk Büyükbalcı.
Brno, Oct 18 (BD) – Tickets will be available to buy online this year. Ticket-holders will scan the barcode at the turnstiles. “They will not have to wait in queues. But we will also sell tickets on the door,” said Kateřina Dobešová, spokeswoman for Brno-střed Town Hall, according to Brněnský deník (“Lidé si opět zabruslí pod Joštem. Letos je čekají novinky”, Oct 17).
Ticket prices will remain the same as last year, as will the size of the ice rink: 860 square meters with a capacity of up to 80 skaters.
The price is CZK 100 for adults, CZK 60 for children (six and over) and senior citizens, and free for children under six. The ice will be available for skaters when the temperature is under 13 degrees Celsius.
Last year, the ice rink on Moravské náměstí opened for the first time on December 6. The winter season 2017/18 ended on March 11, 2018.
