Brno, July 1 (BD) – With the school year coming to an end, over 9000 children in South Moravia are going to spend some time of their 2-month holiday in summer camps. A lot of parents may worry about their kid’s safety in the camps, for a good reason.
Hygienic authorities monitor camps where children stay for more than 5 days in a row and the camp organizers submit a mandatory report on the hygiene situation.
In suburban camps, however, such hygienic monitoring is not required. “Suburban camps do not fit the category of the recovery events (“zotavovací akce”); therefore, they do not have to comply with the regulations on reporting the hygiene risks,” Marcela Hadámková, the representative of the Regional Hygiene Station in Brno explains.
Hadámková encourages parents to visit the campsites before sending off their children there, to be sure that their offsprings will find themselves in a quality hygienic environment.
Hygienic authorities can control the suburban campsites only when notified from a third party.
Hadámková advises parents to research and preferably visit their chosen summer facility beforehand to ensure a pleasant stay for the children.
