Sept 4 (BD) – Kindergarten and primary school year kicks off officially today for 27.000 children in Brno.
Brno and the city districts are founders of 66 elementary schools with a total capacity of 35,000 pupils.
To celebrate the start of the new school year, all children in the first grade and their teachers received tickets to Brno Observatory and Planetarium and to Vida Science Park in Brno.
The city of Brno and the surrounding urban areas used a period of summer school break to repair and improve educational infrastructures for 217 million crowns. For example, specialists repaired medical installations, reconstructed electrical networks, and replaced water distribution systems.
The biggest investment, 58 million crowns, was made at Sirotkov Primary School in order to build a new gym.
