Brno, Sep 25 (BD) – The incident took place on Sunday morning in Brno – Lelekovice. The owner of the horse found it trapped in a drain next to a swimming pool. The drain was a part of the swimming pool mechanism and was gradually getting filled with water, probably due to a damaged pipeline.

Firefighters and veterinarians rushed to the spot to help the animal out of the drain. “We tried to pump out the water, the horse was relatively quiet. After the arrival of a vet, we also called a specialized horse rescue service,” Jan Dvořák, spokesman of South Moravian firefighters told Denik.cz.

The rescue team tied the horse with secured straps and the crane gently pulled it out. “After a while, the animal stood on its feet and got treated by the vet,” Dvořák added.

The animal is out of danger. It suffered on its legs and had slight hypothermia, but there were no serious injuries, according to the rescuers. The rescue mission lasted about two hours.
