Influenza epidemic in South Moravia continues

The number of people with acute respiratory infections and influenza in the South Moravian Region continues to rise.

Brno, Feb 28 (BD) – In the current week, the number of people with acute respiratory infections and influenza has reached 2,048 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, Dr. Renata Ciupek from the Regional Hygienic Authority of South Moravia reported on Monday.

In the past week, the highest increase in the number of cases was observed among children up to 5 years of age, Ciupek explained.

The recommendation that health facilities declare a ban on visits therefore remains in effect.
