Brno, Oct 16 (BD) – The newly formed coalition, represented in the City Council by Pirates and KDU-ČSL, wanted the second phase of residential parking to be free of charge. November will see an extension of the residential parking zones outside Brno’s historical centre. The plan was supported by Matěj Hollan from Žít Brno.

However, ANO and the Greens managed to defeat the proposal, according to Czech Television (CT), Brnensky Denik, and other media this morning.

“The proposal for free residential parking in three zones from November 1 was not approved by the City Council. KDU-ČSL, T. Koláčný of the Pirate Party, and M. Hollan from Žít Brno voted in favour of the proposal,” according to Czech Television’s “Události Brno” this morning, retweeting information from Barbora Měchurová of CT.

On November 1, 2018, three additional districts will be brought into the residential parking system, bound by Údolní, Úvoz, Kotlářská, Pionýrská, Drobného, and Milady Horákové.
