The 2018 season was heavily impacted by the warm and dry weather. Due to low water levels, the boats of the Brno Transport Company (DPMB) only went to Veveří Castle from mid-August. Thanks to a long summer, boat rides were open to passengers until the end of October. Photo credit: @BrnoDaily.
Brno, Nov 3 (BD) – Peak interest in the boat rides was in July and August, as usual. There was a significant increase in passenger numbers in the Spring: “For example, in April this year, we transported six times more passengers than in 2017,” said DPMB CEO Miloš Havránek in a press release.
“The boats were taken by around 230,000 people, about 16,000 fewer than last year. However, given the circumstances, I consider this to be a very good result,” added Havránek.
The boats will be taken onshore to undergo a post-season check and maintenance service.
