Brno, Dec 6 (BD) – Every traveller has one or two funny toilet stories. But Brno-střed Town Hall has decided to take action to prevent bad experiences, and extend the standard network of public toilets in the center. To motivate businesses to offer bathroom services, the city councillors have decided to offer financial compensation for supplying and maintaining publicly accessible bathrooms.

The conditions are that the businesses involved in the program will be visibly marked with the logo ‘FREE WC’, and will allow the use of their bathrooms free of charge not only to guests, but also to tourists and other passers-by.

A total of CZK 370,000 has been allocated from the budget for ‘FREE WC’. “Each of the registered enterprises, if they meet the requirements, will receive financial support of up to CZK 10,000 per year,” said Kateřina Dobešová, spokeswoman for Brno-střed Town Hall.

The town hall is offering partial compensation for the cost of cleaning and hygiene products incurred as a result of the service. Registration will be accepted until December 14, 2018.
