Brno, June 26 (BD) – There is a commonly shared opinion that the competence to speak Czech will really be to your advantage when living in the Czech Republic. In the South-Moravia reside almost 43 000 foreign nationals, many of them in the City of Brno. Hence, The South-Moravia region has recently invested 1 million CZK in the Czech courses for EU nationals that are free of charge.
In May 2017, the new Czech language course for free for the EU nationals begun in the South Moravian Regional Centre to Support the Integration of Foreigners. It went like hotcakes! “As we were launching the course, we doubted whether it would be successful among people. We were afraid that there would be a lack of participants. Currently, we have 150 candidates, we are not able to guarantee the course for,” says for Czech TV Ondřej Dibík, the Czech teacher of the South Moravian regional intergration center.
Foreign IT employees and many foreign students of Masaryk University are among the most interested candidates. The on-site course lasts 3.5 month, so this one will finish in August 2017, being conducted on the premises of the Tertiary Medical School (VOŠ zdravotnická) at Kounicova 684/16 in Brno. The course includes 25 lessons with the frequency of 2 lessons per week.

For aforementioned courses, only EU nationals can register; the condition is to have an EU passport, visa or other type o residence of EU or EEA country.
Feel welcome in the Czech culture with the Integration Center – for non-EU nationals
If you are a non-EU national, don’t worry. The South- Moravia Integration Center provides assistance and support for all newcomers. To intermediate communication with municipal authorities, to facilitate bureaucracy and to get acquainted with the Czech culture and people, the South Moravian Regional Centre to Support the Integration of Foreigners comes into play again. As its official website informs: “The Centre’s activities support the integration of foreigners into Czech society. The main objective is to ensure equal access to integration services and qualified integration support.” It is co-financed by the South Moravian Region and the National Fund of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF).
In September, there will be a new Czech language course for adults you can apply for. Registration will be open on August 27, 6 PM. Check the website regularly, so it won’t happen that you miss the opportunity or drop by and ask personally.
