Police Catch Suspects behind over 30 Car Burglaries in Brno

The suspects are two 55- and 38-year-old men from Brno. Since February, they committed at least 33 burglaries. They two predators seemed to be experienced and accurate when targeting the vehicles, Brno Police Department reported.

The men took chance to steal the cars while their drivers stopped to buy something and went out of theirs cars. The most common loots where money, electronics such as laptops, cellphones and navigators or personal belongings. Loss of documents, flash drives with stored data and house keys caused even more inconvenience to the victims in addition to the property damage.

The two car thieves also stole credit cards and attempted to make unauthorized withdrawals. In one case, they were successful as the managed to purloin 15,000 CZK from ATM with a card stolen from a parked car in Dolni Morava.

The total damage caused by the thieves is estimated around 300,000 CZK. The two men will be prosecuted for crimes of theft and unjustified measures, counterfeiting and alteration of payment, which can lead to five years of imprisonment.
