Brno, Oct 12 (BD) – Robots instead of bartenders are a real thing at the 59th International Engineering Fair (Mezinárodní strojírenský veletrh) which is going on at the Brno Exhibition Center.
Is it a raspberry martini? Or rather raspberry juice?
Just choose your favorite drink on a tablet, and robotic arm will take all the ingredients from the shelf, mix it and put it in front of you at the bar.
Such a robot by Siemens company is currently at the Brno Exhibition Center.
Visitors can also see robots who play football, a flight simulator and 3D printers producing – for example – a violin.
These exhibits are among the most popular ones and engineers from all over the world participate in it.
Last year, over 80,000 people arrived at International Engineering Fair in Brno, this year the organizers are hoping for an even greater number.
“So far, we are happy. The number of visitors in the first days is comparable to last year,” the spokesman of the trade fair, Jiří Erlebach said to Czech online daily iDnes.cz.
This time, India became the partner country and the invitation was accepted by 1600 exhibitors.
Among them, there are many companies from South Moravia.
Firm ABB from Brno once again exhibited the YuMi robot. This is the first robot in the world that learnt to collaborate safely with humans.
The head of robotics from this company, Vítězslav Lukáš, reassures that people do not have to worry in the near future that the machines will replace their work.
They see the potential to relieve workers of risky professions, for example when exposed to extreme temperatures.
“The bartenders do not have to worry about their work. Our robot is not yet so perfect to replace human work,” the workers at the Siemens booth smile.
