Brno, Dec 7 (BD) – Preserving the environment has just become easier. The new web application for managing waste by the Brno Office of the Deputy for the Smart City has been launched. The app shows the availability of waste sorting bins and offers an analysis of their current capacity levels, as well as the locations of waste sorting bins around the city.
Citizens of Brno daily produce about 225 tons of waste, using more than 55,000 containers for mixed and more than 3,500 containers for recyclable waste. With this application “citizens can find out how far they need to walk to reach the closest containers or to drive to a garbage collection center,“ Deputy Mayor for Smart City Jaroslav Kacer explains.
The application will use real-time data in 2018 to keep us regularly informed about waste management changes in the city.
The users will also be able to propose the spots where they believe the waste sorting containers are missing.
